Aqsa Arif is the founder and arts administrator of SaltSpace Co-operative, a creative platform which aims to support art students, new graduates and emerging artists based in Scotland as a stepping-stone into their professional career. Since setting up in 2019, SaltSpace has supported and provided creative opportunities to over 300 members, with residencies, studio space, workshops, gallery exhibitions, film screenings, professional development and more. An emerging artist herself, she understands the need for meaningful opportunities for early-career artists. She maintains an interdisciplinary practice in Glasgow and is the studio manager for Alberta Whittle. Her work has been shown at Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Scottish Academy, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Jupiter Artland and Tate Modern.
