Contemporary Artist
Billie Adele is a contemporary artist whose practice celebrates femininity while challenging patriarchal constraints. Working primarily in painting, she explores the grotesque, the monstrous feminine, and the transgressive potential of the body. Influenced by the occult, cinema, sci-fi and camp horror aesthetics, she constructs uncanny suspended realities where amorphous feminine forms resist containment and satirise beauty as ritual. Her work merges macabre humour, theatricality and visceral materiality, transforming painting into an alchemical act of becoming. Through these materially charged worlds, she reimagines the grotesque as a site of liberation: fluid, embodied and defiantly alive.
