Creative Practitioner
Kathryn is a freelance creative practitioner, specialising in project development, coordination and evaluation, and with particular interests in community and participatory arts, social impact and network-building. Most recently, she was Programme Lead for Creative Scotland’s Culture Collective Programme, building a network of hundreds of participatory arts practitioners and organisations across Scotland, and advocating for community arts to be recognised at the heart of our creative sector. Kathryn was formerly Interim Director for Creative Lives (twice!), and Operations Director for Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling. There, she specialised in building deeper connections between organisations and the communities they serve, increasing the diversity of representation and decision-making, and initiating projects that position social impact at the heart of their work. Outside these formal roles, she’s built a practice around community activism, exploring what it is to be a citizen, to take action, to hold power and to make change.
