Spatial Designer and Event Promoter

Lucy Nurnberg is a spatial designer and event promoter based in London. After a career in illustration, magazine making and news journalism, she retrained in Interior Design – graduating from a Masters in Interior Design at the Royal College of Art in 2023. For her thesis project at the RCA, Lucy created the story of Uhaul Dyke Rescue, a near-future lesbian emergency rescue service who operate the Mobile Dyke Bar: a pop-up queer space in a Luton van. Since graduating, she decided to bring the project to life and set up Uhaul Dyke Rescue as a design and events platform. The Mobile Dyke Bar was brought to life as a touring festival venue in 2024, and has appeared everywhere from Glastonbury and Mighty Hoopla to the Victoria & Albert Museum. As part of the project, Lucy also launched the Uhaul Dyke Raves, a clubnight for the lesbian and trans community in London, that has become one of the biggest queer nights in London. Alongside running Uhaul Dyke Rescue, Lucy works as a freelance spatial designer across film production and exhibition design.
