BAFTA winning Film & TV Director
Michael is a BAFTA winning film and television director, highly experienced across both comedy and drama. He also directs theatre, specialising in theatre for the arena.
Among his many awards he was given an Outstanding Contribution to Television BAFTA in 2019 for directing all 62 episodes of Still Game. The award-winning BBC networked comedy remains the most watched programme in Scotland over the last decade.
Released in 2024, his first feature, Man and Witch, is an affectionate homage to fantasy films of the 1980s starring Tami Stronach, Christopher Lloyd and Sean Astin. He alternates between high end multi camera (Dragons Den, Strictly Come dancing Live Tour) and scripted television and film.
He is currently running a low budget horror film company with Greg Hemphill, Sean Greenhorn and Robert Florence with a view to making 3 features a year, simultaneously running a high level training programme alongside.
