Street Artist
Hi my name is Panda and I am a street artist based in Glasgow. I have always loved street art and graffiti but for a long time I was more preoccupied with drinking and partying. During this time I worked a variety of ‘normal’ jobs and to be honest they sucked the life out of me. Thankfully on June the 5th 2017 I stopped drinking and partying and tentatively started to walk the path of being an artist.
Since then I have painted the streets hundreds of times, hosted two solo exhibitions, started a social enterprise which has now been running for over five years, gained direct entry to third year of Sculpture and Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art, passed with a first class honour degree and most recently opened Grateful Gallery in the heart of Garnethill with my two favourite Glasgow street artists.
What’s funny is that all sounds amazing and I am definitely proud of myself, but I still never really feel like I know what I’m doing. Sobriety has given me a lot more agency and courage in my life, but that deep feeling of not knowing what I’m supposed to do is always looming.
