Rob Morrison

Rob Morrison is an architect and social entrepreneur who develops platforms that enable communities, organisations and businesses to create positive environmental, cultural and civic change.

As co-founder of Agile City CIC, Rob has spent over a decade transforming vacant post-industrial buildings into places that support enterprise, learning and collaboration. Through projects including Civic House, Civic Street and the Glue Factory, he has pioneered a practical approach to regeneration that combines deep retrofit, creative workspace, circular economy and community-led innovation. Rather than delivering fixed programmes, his work focuses on creating the conditions for new ideas, partnerships and enterprises to emerge.

Rob believes that lasting change comes through learning by doing — bringing together designers, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists and local communities to test ideas in real-world settings. This approach has helped establish Agile City as a living laboratory where cultural practice, social enterprise and environmental innovation intersect to address complex societal challenges.

Alongside Agile City, Rob is Impact Manager at BE-ST (Built Environment – Smarter Transformation), Scotland's national innovation centre for the built environment. Through the Retrofit Scotland programme, he works with academia, industry, government and communities to accelerate retrofit. This national perspective complements his local delivery experience, connecting grassroots enterprise with wider policy, research and investment.
