Robbie Gordon is a theatre-maker born in Prestonpans, specialising in making work with and for communities. He trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating in 2016 with the Drama in Education Award.

Robbie is the joint Artistic Director of Wonder Fools alongside Jack Nurse and the Creative Engagement Director at the Traverse Theatre.

Robbie and Jack founded Wonder Fools on the belief that high-quality arts experiences should be for everyone, and they have taken their productions across the UK ever since from Scotland’s main producing houses to town halls. They specialise in co-creation and centring communities in their work. In 2020, they created Positive Stories for Negative Times, an international participatory project in association with the Traverse Theatre. The project has engaged over 900 young people in 16 different countries and commissioned 16 new plays by some of the most acclaimed artists working in the UK, All three Seasons of the PSFNT have been published by Methuen Bloomsbury.

For the Traverse, Robbie is currently working on a national rollout of Class Act, leading on artist development and the making of co-created work including a new project about the Street Soccer Women’s Teams journey to the Homeless World Cup.
