Director
Shilpa is a director and dramaturg specialising in new writing. She trained at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland and values collaboration, respect, rigor and curiosity. She is especially interested in stories which reflect the big scale political and social through the most personal and everyday occurrences, and approaches directing and dramaturgy from a core ethos of asking challenging questions with kindness. She is the Co-Artistic Director of Bijli Productions, a board trustee for Tortoise in a Nutshell, and is undertaking a PhD part time at RCS investigating how new playwriting can explore our relationship to historical narratives.
